36 Weeks and Growing

We've finally hit a big milestone! I just had my 36 week appointment last week. We have just under a month left to go until we meet our little boy! We are so excited!! Marcia has already put in her requests that I have Champ on either the 19th or 26th. I'll do my best, Marcia!

Unfortunately, who knows when Champ will decied to make his grand entrance. I had all these high hopes that I would be at least 3 cm dilated when I had my first check up, but to my chagrin, I haven't even progressed to a finger tip!! Seriously, come on!! Since then I've been sitting on my exercise ball whenever possible and taking extra long walks. Don't get me wrong, I don't want my little Champ to come too early, I just don't want to go from a ZERO to a 10 all in one day!

Remember this? He used to be so small, now according to Babycenter.com (which I love) he is approx. 6 pounds and 19 inches long. Seth and I were both small babies though, so were guessing Champ will be close to the 7 pound mark.

Who's Bigger?

Seth decided to come home for lunch (my nap time) one day and mess around with our camera. He's so cute and was trying to stick his tummy out as far as my all most 36 week tummy. I think I have him beat. :)

September Girl's Night Out

Below are two pictures from September's girl’s night out. We went to a restaurant in Midway for dinner, spent the night at one of the girl's cabins and then went shopping in Park City the next day! We had a great time talking, playing games and eating dessert. It was kind of like being in high school all over again, but the topics of conversation were quite different. :) Also, while we were all out the husbands were either watching kids or playing. Seth was playing of course. He went rock climbing and played Halo all night! He's a big fan of girl’s night out, only then he can play X-box with no interruptions (Thursday night is Halo night too, but there is no guarantee of peaceful play.)

10 Things you might not know about me and Seth...

Because I thought Sarah’s list was so funny, I decided that Seth and I needed a list too! Hopefully Seth likes his list. :)

Seth:

He loves watermelon and can eat a whole one by himself if you let him.

He is good at everything and is fiercely competitive.

His secret ambition is to be a cowboy/ bull rider.

He loves popsicles especially the cheap kind, and juice. He has a popsicles almost everyday after work and has to have lots of juice to drink when he’s done with any physical activity.

No matter how stupid or bad a movie or TV show is, he has to see it through to the end (its part of his obsessive compulsive disorder).

He secretly loves short running shorts! If you look at pictures of him and all his running buddies, especially the Stanford ones, they all have short shorts on! It’s been a topic of discussion before and Leann and I have decided that some of his shorts are even too short for us! To his credit though, he looks good in his short shorts!

He makes me laugh everyday, even when I’m soo mad.

He’s going to be the best dad ever! You probably already knew that though.

He sings along with the music in the car.

He loves game systems of any kind, but X-Box is his favorite. He can play video games non-stop for hours and hours (also part of his obsessive compulsive disorder).

Tia:

If I could, I would go to both cosmetology and culinary school.

My toe nails have to be polished, and only very rarely will you see them without polish. I’m slightly obsessive compulsive.

I still freak myself out when I’m at home alone at night.

I’ve mowed the lawn more since I’ve been pregnant than ever before in my life.

I love running in the winter when its cold and snowy outside.

I love the smell of coffee and anything else with raspberry, pomegranate or vanilla in it.

I’m pulling for Brittany Spears. Get it together, girl!

People, including Seth and I have called our unborn child “Champ” so often that the name has actually grown on me. It won’t be his official name in the end; however I can see it being like when my parents almost called Danny, Jesse. I’m glad we all missed that tragedy.

I’ve been blonde most of my life, but I really enjoyed being a brunette and will probably go back to the dark side.

I like wearing Seth’s regular shorts even though they are too small for me right now. Sad!

Utah Baby Shower

This was a great shower! Thanks to everyone who came and helped! Here are a few pics.
Marcia and Leann both made the trip up!

One of my best buddies since second grade, Adrienne, flew in and helped throw the bash.

There they are, two of my best buds! They both came a long way to be with me and I luv'em! I'm so mad we didn't take any pictures of all three of us together! We'll have to make sure that happens when they come for Champ's big day.

Two of my old teamates from BYU were able to come (Kristen and Rena). I can't wait to run with them again!

I usually don't do these, but needed a quick post to appease my sister!

Grand Junction Baby Shower

Thank you to everyone who helped with or was there for our baby shower in Grand Junction. I know many of you traveled a long ways and it really meant a lot. I love you all! Below are a few pictures from the shower, unfortunately we didn't get pictures of everyone who attended, but at least we got a few.
Picture of Jan and I showing off our baby bellies. Jan is due just one week after me, but we're all betting she'll have Alisa before I have Champ. :)
Grandma Babbel and me. This is the first picture we've had together in a long time.

Me, my cousin Dave and his two little girls, Jackie and Katie, and Jan. I haven't seen Dave and his family for over a year and this was the first time Seth was able to meet them. It was too bad Dave's wife wasn't able to make it, hopefully next time we'll get to see her. Thanks for making the trip down from Texas, guys!

Here's a pic of two of my good buddies from Central, Amie and Rachel. Rachel drove all the way down from Denver to surprise me!! It was sooo good to see them. Also, Amie is four months pregnant with her second child in this picture, doesn't she look great!!

My Aunt Karen, Aunt Linda and Aunt Kim were all able to attend the shower. It was great to have them there. A special thanks to my Aunt Karen who drove all the way from Texas and helped pull everything together!

Me and Vanette Pulsipher. It was so good to see her, I love this lady!!

Mom, me, Mindy and Jan. Mindy looks like the pregnant one, right! jk

Just us girls!

Me, Nana and Jan.

Lake Powell

We made one last trip to Lake Powell for the year and it was great!! I only wish we would have taken more pictures!
We came to this spot everyday to play and relax. It was like our own little getaway. The weather was perfect and we had a great time! You can see some of us in the water with our noodles, we were doing water aerobics!

Seth with a funny look on his face, like he couldn't decide if he should be mad or start laughing. So cute!

Yes, I water skied while 7 months pregnant. I was very careful though. As you can see by the picture, I wasn't going very fast or doing anything dangerous. I have to admit though, the extra baby weight made a big difference when I was trying to get up. Seth and Lanny playing “king of the mountain” on the island. It was sooo funny to watch! Seth was winning a good amount of the time, but eventually Lanny knocked him off, Lanny has a slight size advantage.

HypnoBirthing

We started our HypnoBirthing classes in August and just finished our last class. It was a very enlightening class and I'm glad Seth and I found it. Although, I'm not sure Seth appreciated watching all the birthing videos, they freak him out every time. Sometimes I tease him and say, "It’s a good thing my Mom will be there to help me when you pass out," but I know when Champ actually comes Seth will be a great birthing coach! There were eight couples in our class and everyone was having a boy! Talk about against the odds!

Above is a pic of Seth and I on the last day of class with our birthing ball. :)

For those of you who aren't quite sure what HypnoBirthing is or have heard funny things about it here's a little info (there are a few different methods, but we chose the Mongan Method): "HypnoBirthing® - The Mongan Method, is a unique method of relaxed, natural childbirth education, enhanced by hypnosis techniques, that allows women to use their natural instincts to bring about a safer, easier, more comfortable birthing in a way that most mirrors nature. Emphasis is placed on both pregnancy and childbirth as well as on HypnoBirthing®. As a birthing method, HypnoBirthing® is as new as tomorrow and as old as ancient times."

Harry Potter

Okay, let’s start from the beginning. Sorry I haven't posted in such a LONG time. But, here are few quick updates starting with "Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows." As most of you know I'm an embarrassingly huge fan of Harry Potter. So, like last time Mindy J, Trevor and I decided that we wanted to be one of the first people in the UC to get the book. But, we knew that since this was the last book in the series it would be a little harder to be in the front of the line at 12:00. So, since Mindy and I are both prego Trev did the manly thing and spent the night at Barnes and Noble for us (we luv you Trev). Unfortunately, other fans had the same idea and had been sleeping at B&N since Wednesday (where do these people work?)!! Nonetheless, we got wrist bands that put us in the very first group to get the prized book!! Later that night in a cloud of fog (B&N had fog machines going all night, really set the mood :) we got our books! While walking out some guy offered me $100 for my book and as I was about to take the deal and just buy a new book at Wal-Mart the punk chickened out!! It was a weak moment, I'll admit, but $100 sounded good. From there we drove home immediately so we could all start reading. I stayed up until about 3 that night reading, but then fell asleep (growing a baby really makes you tired :) I read as much as possible on Saturday while still running errands and finally finished the book early Sunday. For those who haven't read the book, I won't ruin it for you, but I must say, it was my favorite book of the series, by far!

I found my old Harry Potter glasses from the book six party and thought it would be funny to wear them for a little bit while reading the book. I tried to get a pic of Seth wearing them, but he said, "I'm not a potter, I can't wear them." Needless to say Seth started reading the book as soon as I put it down and finished pretty darn quick for not being a "potter."
